Nairobi – Samburu – Lake Baringo-Kakamega-L. Nakuru-L. Naivasha-Masai Mara-Nairobi

Day 1:   Arrival  

Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met by our representative and embark on your journey at 0630hrs to Samburu through the picturesque countryside that is dominated by Africa’s second highest mountain, Kenya. Afternoon game drives in search of the “Big Five” and the unusual game of this arid game reserve.

Day 2: Samburu

Pre-breakfast early morning game drive in pursuit of more game and birds of Samburu land, return to your lodge for breakfast and have an Excursion in a neighbouring Samburu village for a traditional experience. An afternoon game drive is included.

Day 3: Lake Baringo

After an early morning breakfast, drive to Lake Baringo arriving on time for lunch, after lunch you will go boat ride hoping to see, hippos, crocodiles, fish eagles among other birds and without forgetting the lovely views around this lake’s environment.

Dinner and overnight: Lake Baringo Lodge

 

Day 4: Kakamega Forest

Breakfast. Leave the Great Rift Valley via Tugen hills for the higher altitudes of Kakamega Forest. This forest is respected for its magnificent birds and butterflies species that are not found elsewhere in the country. You will take a short nature walk in search of its endemic birds and also monkeys. Dinner and overnight: Camp


Day 5: Kakamega Forest

After breakfast, you will leave your camp for a long nature walk in the forest in search of birds, primates, gigantic indigenous trees and water falls. Return late afternoon.

Day 6: Lake Nakuru

Depart earlier after breakfast, leaving this beautiful equatorial rain forest via the dramatic Nandi escarpment and the tea lands of Kericho to Lake Nakuru. Arrive in Lake Nakuru and enjoy your game drive with the “Big Four”, Rothschild giraffes, impalas and much more including the white and black rhinos, without forgetting, the greatest ornithological importance of Lake Nakuru where pelicans and flamingos exist in great flocks. Dinner and Overnight: Camp.

 

Day 7: Lake Naivasha

After breakfast, embark on a sunrise and morning game drive in search of more animals.
Enjoy the breathtaking scenery of the lake and its pink carpet of flamingos at the Baboons’ Cliff. From here we drive out for Lake Naivasha arriving here for lunch and then a walking safari in the Crater Lake. Back for an early dinner and then dash out of the camp again for the unknown African on a night safari where we are expecting to see the nocturnal lives of the game.

Day 8: Lake Naivasha

You will hire mountain bikes and tackle a cycling safari to the “devils” of Hells Gate Park after breakfast. The looming cliffs of Hell’s Gate are awesome and truly inspiring to conquer. However, we will cycle while watching game and birds to the gorge where we will do a short walking safari to see the cold, warm and hot springs in the Hell’s “kitchen”. Afternoon sunset cruise on Lake Naivasha. Dinner and Overnight: Camp

 

Day 9: Masai Mara

Depart early and drive out of the Rift Valley on the plains of Loita with picturesque Masai herding cattle and on to Masai mara.  You will arrive in time for lunch and afternoon siesta before embarking on the memorable game drive in this famous park.  At the northern extremity of the Serengeti ecosystem and blessed with a permanent water supply, the Masai Mara has a thriving population of plain game, augmented in the dry season by the annual migration of over two million gnus and zebras from the vast, parched Serengeti plains.

Day 10:  Masai Mara

Spend the morning and afternoon on game drives in search of the BIG FIVE.  You are sure to see plains game such as impala, grants and Thomson’s gazelles. The famous Hippo Pool is a major attraction. Dinner and Overnight: Camp

 

Day 11: Amboseli

Check out early after breakfast, drive to Amboseli via the city life of Nairobi. While in Amboseli you can enjoy your game drive with elephants in front of the towering Mt. Kilimanjaro. Amboseli is famous for it’s super-abundant species of animals that are also easy to spot due to its vast open plains. Dinner and Overnight: Camp.

 

Day 12:  Nairobi

Pre-breakfast game drive then back for breakfast. Thereafter brake camp and enjoy your game drive enroute back to Nairobi for your outbound flight or according to your flight details, spend a night in Nairobi.
